Haslam's Bridge EOI

Year: 2024
Client: Min Wong
Location: Haslams Bridge, Paramatta
Referee: Min Wong (Artist)
MAGIK HAPPENS - CAD Support for EOI Submission.
Ming Wong approached Seaton McKeon to assist in evolving and interpreting her initial concept design into a three-dimensional form tailored to the dimensions and structure of the bridge identified for the EOI submission. Starting with basic 2D elements, the concept was developed into 3D objects, exploring materials and fabrication processes. Using advanced CAD modeling, Seaton McKeon transformed early sketches and ideas into a tangible and site-appropriate proposal, ensuring the design was not only visually compelling but also fabrication-appropriate.

Collaborative Creativity: Developing a Polished Concept
The work was carried out rapidly and cost-effectively through a highly collaborative approach with the artist, balancing creative freedom with the practicalities of structural and physical mediums. Early sketches and illustrations were interpreted with care, preserving strong graphic elements and ensuring the creative integrity of the design. By directly translating these elements into the final medium, the process retained the essence of the artist's vision.
