Research - The foundation for meaningful design.
Inclusive design takes its cues from a range of sources: design and aesthetic trends, manufacturing innovation, the evolving consumer market, and changing user needs. studio.mckeon takes all of these into account, and aims to deliver consistently meaningful design that sets itself apart from other young brands through a combination of cohesion, strength of vision, and functionality for users.

Sketch - Contemplating new ideas through drawing.
studio.mckeon believes that design is one part inspiration one part problem-solving. By harnessing the power of pen to paper, new technologies, materials, begin to take form and develop into new and exciting products.
CAD - Putting technology to work.
Another critical part of our testing process is using Computer Aided Design (CAD) to create detailed, accurate visualisations of all our designs. A key pre-manufacturing stage, CAD design bridges the gap between our ideas and reality and allows us to build prototypes with absolute precision.
Render - Taking the next step toward reality.
studio.mckeon uses 3D CAD models to create photo-realistic renders that allow us to explore complex design ideas quickly and cost effectively. The renders also double as valuable assets for market research purposes and can help fast track the whole marketing and roll out process when used on packaging and websites.
Prototype - Refining and testing in the real world.
At studio.mckeon, we create a prototype for each product, testing and refining it in the real world prior to full-scale production. We value this feedback loop for design and development, where design, performance and customer/user feedback can be captured and integrated into the final design with a greater clarity and fidelity.
As each design is unique, successful prototyping requires pairing the right technology and material to the objectives of the project. Prototyping can take the form of exact materials intended for the final product or can be made using a suitable substitute. A range of techniques are used such as 3D printing, CNC machining, laser cutting, screen printing and metal fabrication, as well as sand casting, investment casting and vacuum casting technologies.

Document - Making it Black and White.
Technical illustrations are one of our favourite communication tools for everything from product specifications and installation instructions to user manuals. Done well, they make technical information clearer and easier to understand and can vastly simplify the assembly process and reduce the margin for error.
Package - Enhancing brand values and experiences.
First impressions often last and it’s typically the things that stand out – not the ones that conform to trends – that catch the eye of a potential customer. studio.mckeon’s packaging design leverages our signature attention to design trends and consumer behaviour to consolidate brand identity and create a strong, positive first impression.
Mock up - Assessing designs against reality.
Even the most detailed drawings can sometimes fall short when it comes to demonstrating how a design or solution interacts with the real world around it. To place an idea into context and understand how it will look and behave in the real world, photorealistic mockups are an invaluable design tool.
In line with this, studio.mckeon makes wide use of mockups at all project stages, from project pitches for tender to DA applications and public consultation forums. Detailed and highly realistic, our mockups give you a clear and accurate understanding of the form, scale, and materiality of your project long before anything is set in stone.
