The Folia hatstand, is inspired but the patterns and graphic aesthetic in leaves and foliage within nature. It is also informed by the simple and abstract shapes within man made metal work which are also very graphic but highly repetitive.

Design Exploration.
The design process explored a number of proportions and textures initially from a sketch format. The design was then prototyped in mild steel and refined again for production into a simple circular shape.
