Providing a tailored alternative.
We have noticed many crushed or binned ‘reusable’ plastic cups at festivals, regardless of patrons being encouraged to return and reuse.
The breif was to create a reusable cup specifically for festivals. A few key considerations had to be incorporated - the design had to be simple, aesthetic and, most importantly, functional. Its core function needed to be about retainment – how could the burden be lessened of having to hold onto a reusable cup?

A Style Companion.
The overall architecture of the design was driven by the desire to limit the material types to just two for a smaller footprint and more traceable supply chain. To add another layer of complexity it would also need to be stylish enough that everyone and anyone will make the addition to their festival outfits.

Environmentally Driven Design.
Eyre Cup is made from food grade silicone rather than conventional petrochemical derived thermoplastics. This choice was driven by considering the source and extraction methods of material constituents in comparison, as well as toxicity. The silicone is moulded over a metal ring which allows for carabina attachment.
